( he's kinda anxious too! this is nowhere near as simple as fighting monsters or doing odd jobs for people. things which get emotional for other people are a minefield, and intimacy like that is certainly one of those things. he'd much rather ignore the hell out of such matters and concentrate on the real and practical.
but, all of that said, her message is... not what he fears. it isn't some sudden emotional rambling or something he would have to attempt to delicately navigate, but a thank you. like it were a favour or a transaction.
